Assalamualaikum, I am Muneera, If you are new here, i create content regarding islamic productivity, self improvemnt and modest fashion with a healthy lifestyle.
Let's get to the point!
Why do we sin?
We sin because of a combination of human weakness, desires (nafs), temptations (like Shaytan’s whispers), ignorance, and forgetfulness. Allah created us with free will, which means we constantly face choices between right and wrong. Sometimes, out of desire, impatience, peer pressure, or even emotional pain, we slip into sin even when we know better.
In Islam, it’s also understood that sin is part of being human — the test is not to be perfect, but to turn back to Allah in repentance when we fall.
The Prophet ﷺ said, “All the sons of Adam are sinners, but the best of sinners are those who repent often.” (Tirmidhi)
We sin because we are weak, but we are also capable of growth, change, and seeking forgiveness — that’s where true success lies.
How to oversome?
Step 1: Take a paper and be honest with yourself*
Sit alone. Take a deep breath.
Write at the top of the paper:
➤ “What is making me fall into sin?”
No one will see this but you and Allah.
Be raw. Be real.
Maybe it’s certain people, certain apps, boredom, anger, loneliness, or craving attention.
Name them. Write them down.
Step 2: Identify and block the triggers
Look at your paper.
Circle the biggest 1-3 causes.
Now ask:
➤ How can I cut this off or reduce it?
Maybe it’s unfollowing an account.
Maybe it’s spending less time alone.
Maybe it’s deleting an app.
Maybe it’s avoiding certain places or conversations.
Remember: You are not weak for needing to block things — you are smart for protecting your heart.
Step 3: Understand Islam’s wisdom
Ask Allah: “O Allah, help me avoid this sin and make me firm on the straight path.”
– Don’t underestimate the power of dua, even if you slip again.
Every time you try to stop a sin, even if you slip again, you are drawing closer to Him.
He is watching your effort, not just your result.
Step 4: Cut off the destruction disguised as happiness
Sin often feels sweet in the moment.
But imagine:
It’s like drinking salty seawater when you’re thirsty.
It satisfies you for a moment, but soon you are even thirstier and weaker.
Write on your paper:
➤ “It gives me happiness now, but regret later.
Step 5: Remember the consequences
Imagine yourself one year from now. If you keep this sin, where will you be? How will your heart feel? Now imagine if you fight it and break free — What kind of peace, closeness to Allah, and strength will you have?
Write down two columns:
- What will happen if I keep sinning?
- What will happen if I stop or reduce it?
Step 6: Replace sin with good things
Allah doesn’t just pull you away from sin — He opens doors to better things. What can you do instead?
- Call a friend
- Go for a walk
- Read Qur’an or listen to a reminder
- Journal or draw
- Exercise or cook
Fill your heart and time with good, so sin has less space.
Step 7: Keep turning back to Allah
Even if you fail tomorrow, even if you fall 100 times —
Allah loves when you keep coming back.
Say to Him:
“Ya Allah, I am weak, but You are strong. Help me win over this.”
Final reminder:
It’s not about being perfect.
It’s about being sincere.
Allah sees your struggle — and He loves it.
Until next time.
-with care
